real estate under contract

I found a property that im interested in buying, however, the agent informs me that the property is ''under contract''. what is the legal procedure for me to aquire this property?

I am not sure why you think there is a "legal procedure" to acquire the property. If you are interested, make an offer. If they don't like your offer, or they are selling to someone else, you are likely out of luck. It is likely worth your while to retain your own agent to guide you through the basics.
