Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Georgia
realtor contract
About 1 week after signing a contract with our realtor to sell our property, we were contacted by an aggregate who want to buy out the whole street of duplexes. They got our name from the tax records, not MLS or a sign at the property. They have made us an acceptable offer. What do we owe the realtor? We realize we have a legal contract with them, but they did nothing to bring in the buyer. We are willing to pay them something, for the time and effort they put forth in meeting with us, and listing the property but paying the full percentage seems like we're being taken advantage of. What do you think?

Re: realtor contract
You would need to look to the terms of the agreement you signed with the realtor - does it require you to pay a commission?

Re: realtor contract
What you have to pay the realtor - or not pay the realtor - depends upon what you contracted to do.
