Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Georgia
What is a "reasonable" amount of time for a landlord to make a repair? We have had a leak in our roof for 3 weeks. The landlord has put a tarp on the roof, but no repair has been made and there is mold and mildew growing on the walls and ceiling. She said she is working on it, but will give us no specific time it will be done. Do we have a legal right to terminate the lease and move out?

"Reasonable" is whatever a judge decides it is. There is no definition in the GA Code. Since the GA Code says that the landlord has a duty to repair, consider filing suit against her in Mag Ct to terminate the lease.
