Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Georgia
Recently we found a house that was going to be auctioned. We have a friend that is a closing attorney and said that she would get us an investor so that we could purchase the house. This was on a Friday, she went and looked at the house on Saturday, told us it was a go for the auction on Tuesday and had an investor. The house sold for $255,000 in 2010. We were told by her the night before that the original investor backed out, but her aunt out of state would be willing to buy it. The auction day came and she met my husband there. The house went for $149,500 and now she is saying that her aunt is not sure what she wants to do with the house, but it didn't look good for us. She had no vested interest in the house or even knew about it until we told her. Can we do anything?

Do anything about what? The whole story doesn't really make sense, but it looks like someone bought a house at an auction. What is your part? How much money did you pay? What contracts are in place?
You can make a complaint to the state bar for the apparently unethical conduct of the lawyer.
