Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Georgia

Renewal

I just recently got a renewal quote by letter from our landlord. The rate that was provided on this quote was a better rate than what was given and so I decided to continue renting. Upon arrival to sign for this, I was told by a person that this was done in error and that they were not going to honor this. Between the time that I received the quote and when I went to sign for it, I never received a phone call nor a letter informing me of the error.

My question is this, are the landlords responsible for honoring a quote given to a tenent at the time of signing?

Thank you

Re: Renewal

I doubt you can force the landlord (LL) to comply with the quote unless some consideration ($) changed hands. THere is a doctrine called promissory estopple that might work, but your facts do not seem to indicate that you "changed your position" based on the mere quote. Hugh Wood
