Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Georgia
While renting an apartment, the neighboring tenant was evicted. Several days following i began to hear water flowing through the wall of my room. In mid June, several days after hearing this, I spoke with the son of the landlord and notified him of the problem (he is the person who collects the rent). On June 25, I spoke with the son again and he assured me of its cause and that they would tend to it. For the next three weeks i began experiencing medical problems, and the water damage became visibly worse, eventually causing deteriation--- pictures are available. During this period I was contacting the landlord and letting him know everything. He did not visit the property again until 7/16 he said he would fix it. He returned on 7/21 still unprepared to fix it and offered to move me to another apartment, the night prior the ceiling had caved in causing parts to fall and break items. Due to this i stated that I felt unsafe and would move immediately. My little brother, whom has lupus, stayed a couple of nights in my room and also suffers from symptoms synonmous to mold exposure, he has since been to the doctor. This has prompted me to seek medical attention. Initially i did not connect the symptoms to this problem but i am now convinced that they are related. Exactly how do I go about taking this matter into court and on what basis would seem correct.

If you can prove a connection between the water damage and your health issues, you might have a case. Consult with a local attorney.
