Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Georgia

We are currently renting a house on a month to month basis. The landlord needs to sell the house and told us on Jan. 13 that we would need to move in 30 days. We asked for the request in writing and he finally brought the letter today (Jan. 21). The letter is dated Jan. 1 and states that we have until Jan. 30 to move. We had arranged to be out by Feb. 13 but there is no way we can move in 9 days. Can he do this? What recourse do we have?

You have 60 days from his request. Remind him that in a certified letter.

Without a written lease, you are a Tenant at Will. As such, you are entitled to 60 days notice before the landlord can file a dispossessory action.
