Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Georgia

Rights to break a lease

We have recently rented an apartment (2 months). A couple weeks ago we informed the landlord of possible termites eating the outside of the apartment. Now they are inside the apartment. What can I do to either move or make them fix it. What rights do I have?

The landlord has a duty to repair. However, since you have sucha short lease, I doubt much can be done before the lease expires. You could move out, claiming the place is uninhabitable. But be sure to take plenty of pictures and have a termite expert come and document the infestation.
