Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Georgia

On security deed not on loan

I just recieved a foreclosure notice from an attourney naming my husband and I both as borrowers. However at the mortgage was only signed under his name. I was added to the security deed later. I never signed any thing assumig responsibility for this loan, and he has always been the only person listed on all statements. Does this mean I'm also responsible for this foreclosure?

Re: On security deed not on loan

That is unusual for you to have not been on the original mortgage but later added to the security deed. All these documents need to reviewed. Consult with a local attorney.

Re: On security deed not on loan

You are generally only liable for loans you sign for. You got notice because you are on the security deed.
