Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Georgia

Selling multiple owner property.

Five adults own a house and land. They cannot agree on selling the property and four of them refuse to pay taxes or upkeep. How can one force the sale of the property and divide the proceeds five ways?

File an action for partition in the county where the property is located.

Re: Selling multiple owner property.

All of the owners should keep in mind that a forced sale often leads to a quick sale for far below its market value (even worse with the market today). Add to that the legal fees and expenses. If you can't agree, you all will likely lose much of the value.
