Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Georgia

What are my selling options?

My uncle is joint owner of a property in Gainesville GA but he resides in Ohio. He typically made week long visits 2-3 times yearly. The house was jointly purchased in 1995 for approximately $55K and it now appraises for $108K. They each contributed $7K for the down payment and the occupant pays the monthly mortgage. My uncle now wants to dissolve the personal as well as the business arrangement and would like to know his legal rights. He is currently in the Atlanta area and available for a consultation if necessary.

He plans to return to Ohio this coming Friday but is prepared to extend his stay if necessary. Please provide direction or options ASAP as he would like to pursue this dissolution immediately.

Re: What are my selling options?

First, all the docs regarding how your uncle took title need to be reviewed. I think your uncle needs to file a Petition to Partition. This will resolve the title issues. Please free to call me to set up a meeting with you and/or your uncle.
