if you have a student loan with sallie mae, is it safe to purchase a property ?

Your question makes no sense. "Safe" from what? How are we to know what you mean, or whether you should buy property? What is your legal issue? Maybe you should discuss this with a financial adviser or mortgage lender.

As long as you stay current on payments, yes.

If you default, they can sue you and get a lien on the property.
