Tax Levy

I am an out of work senior citizen. I am behind on my mortgage & taxes. I received a letter stating that if my bill is not in a certain amt. of time, the tax liens will be turned over to the Sheriff for levy. i have put my home up fpr sale, but afraid that I will be evicted before finding a place to go. what can I do, and what does levying my property mean?( I live in Fulton county, GA)
