wife lost job after three monnths and has accepted employement in another state. there is 9 months left on lease.do we have the same priviledge afforded to military personel to break our lease. contract has a start payement date and a end date (1yr lease0

Generally "no." You will have to pay out the remaining 9 months of the lease or invoke the early termination paragraph of the lease, if there is one. You might ask your landlord if you can sublet the tenancy.
