Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Georgia
Unpaid Commision by Builder
My business partner and I were Hired to do sales and marketing for a luxury custom home builder. .. After closing about 4 million in deals that we facillitated, we were only paid about half of the commision owed to us. The builder still owes us around 50k. He has admitted to oweing us the money via email and on phone messages but says we will have to wait almost a year before we can collect all of this. this was not the deal we made when we were hired. We were supposed to be paid in full at the time of closing on each deal. how do I proceed.. Liens? lawsuit?

Re: Unpaid Commision by Builder
A property lien certainly may be an option be aware of 90 day deadline. In addition, I would recommend having an attorney send a demand letter, and, if no positive response is received, file a suit in state court (or mediation/arbitration is required by the contract at issue).
