There is no way to answer your question. No one here knows the facts of the case, and you provided no facts as to why you you are not liable or that the garnishment is improper. Further, a garnishment comes after you have been sued and a judgment entered against you. In short, why do you think there is an answer other than to settle your debt?

A garnishment only happens after you lost a lawsuit. So you are asking us after you lost a suit can you fix that now? The answer is no.

You have three options:

(1) One is to pay the $6000 in full to release the garnishment.

(2) One is to let the garnishment continue.

(3) If you are eligible, a bankruptcy can eliminate or reduce the amount you owe and stop a garnishment.

Regardless, you need to see a lawyer immediately, and would have done better to have done that during or before the suit you lost. Feel free to call me if I can help with option three.
