My wife wishes to ad my name to the deed on our home. Can this be done with a quit claim deed?

Yes, if done correctly. Whether it is a good idea, or accomplishes what you want to accomplish, is another question. A local real estate lawyer will be able to handle the deed and your questions for a relatively small cost (especially compared to the expense of doing it wrong).
