Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Georgia

Hello, I was wondering. I had rented a property last year and the property owner would not fix anything and just a few short days after I moved in, my apartment was broken in to via either the unfixed window in the bedroom or from the next door neighbor through the attic, it was a duplex. Well I have tried taking him to court to get my money back since at the time it was myself who was pregnant at the time and my two small children, so my safety became an issue because I was by myself. I have tried filing in this county, but he said we couldn't file against him directly since it was under his rental company. So we tried filing in the county where the company address was suppose to be, but they cannot serve him at the address that was filed with the Secretary of State. What do I need to do? Thank you, Donna

Do what you should have done before you wasted multiple filing and service fees and talk to a lawyer.
