Re: sexual harassment in the workplace

Generally sexual harassment laws are governed by the federal law or state law. A claim would need to be filed with the EEOC, who would investigate the claim and determine whether to issue a "right to sue letter". Your girlfriend would then have 90 days to file a lawsuit.

Sexual harassment can be either "quid pro quo" as in the case of sexual favors in exchange for employment gains or benefits or a "hostile work environment" which involves offensive behavior towards her because of her sex.

If your girlfriend believes she has been the victim of sexual harassment, please have her contact me. I am willing to provide a free telephone consultation.
