Re: sexual harassment in the workplace

Jeff,

There is not a simple answer to your question, because the statute of limtitations for sexual harassment depends on whether the person is still employed and whether they are seeking a remedy in state court or federal court. Thus, the statute can be a short as 180 days or as long as 2 years (or more in some cases). If you want more information please call my office for a free consultation. Re: sexual harassment in the workplace

For a federal claim of sexual harassment, you must file a charge with the EEOC within 180 days of the last harassing act. If the harassing behavior rises to the level of a state law claim, such as negligent hiring and retention or intentional infliction of emotional distress or battery, the statute of limitations is two years.

The foregoing is general information only, not specific legal advice. Consult with your attorney before taking legal action. No attorney/client relationship has been created or should be implied.
