Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in Georgia

Sexual Harrassment

If my immediate supervisor is having an affair with the Vice President (her boss) of the company and this is causing an people to lose their jobs, the misappropriation of capitol dollars, poor business decisions and undue/unnecessary amounts of stress and strain on other department heads and managers, can we claim that this sexual relationship is effecting us? Does their behavior fall under the realm of sexual harrassment laws?

Re: Sexual Harrassment

Probably not. Generally speaking, it is not sexual harassment for a supervisor to favor a lover unless other facors are involved. Bad judgment, perhaps, but not in itself enough to be a legal violation. Obviously, other factors could change the situation, such as if the Vice President treats ALL women more favorably than men. If the Vice President is really misappropriating corporate money, shareholders might have claims against him.

The foregoing is general information only, not specific legal advice. No attorney/client relationship has been created or should be implied. I recommend that you speak with an attorney of your choosing before taking legal action.
