Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in Georgia

slut or drunk?

the manager i work tells me that my coworker is a slut and drunk... is this legal, or a form of abuse or sexual harrassment? She may be joking, but i am uncomfortable with this. She also told me that the coworker also talked in a sexual behavior to someone else. What is the law on this and what should i do?

Re: slut or drunk?

The one obvious answer to what should you do is to seek employment elsewhere. If your manager speaks like this, why would you want to continue employment (if you can get a job somewhere else)? That said, several additional facts are required to determine whether you have a claim. A single, isolated comment or two is different that a pattern or frequent comments. How many employees are there in the company? Have you discussed with HR, or a higher level manager, if they exist? See a lawyer who specializes in the area of law if you want to discuss whether or not they are creating a hostile environment, but obviously you have to tread lightly.
