Legal Question in Social Security Law in Georgia
Identity theft
I am a victim of identity theft. My ex-boyfriend obtained a cell phone in my name using my social security number. He has admitted to doing this and was recorded saying so. My question is how do I go about having charges filed against him and what steps should I take to protect myself in the future.I have since then received a bill for this cell phone in the amount of $714 and do not have the means to pay for this. What should I do?

Re: Identity theft
Go see the Magistrate and swear out a warrant. The crime is a version of theft by taking.
