Legal Question in Traffic Law in Georgia

In 2010 I was written a speeding ticket in S. Georgia. I paided the ticket within days of receipt, well before its due date. 3-4 months later Ga.passes a new law/bill that conciders me a SUPERSPEEDER and demands i pay an additional $250.00! Can Ga. grandfather me into something I've already paid for once? I'm in a wheelchair and live on a small S.S.Disability income and had to stop driving just to pay the ticket off.

Contrary to the erroneous statement in your post, the Georgia super speeder law was effective January 1, 2010.

One should never plead guilty to anything without talking to a lawyer. The failure to do so means that you accept the consequences. You must pay the surcharge (there are no exceptions) and if you fail to do so your license is suspended.

So since you chose to ignore the state law and the clear wording of your notice for 90 days, your license was suspended and you owe not just the $200 but also a $50 reinstatement fee. Until you pay it you cannot drive.
