Legal Question in Traffic Law in Georgia
81 in 55 zone
Yesterday I was clocked in the HOV lane doing 81 in a 55 zone. The State Trooper was 815.9ft away. Does this make a difference? Can I get the speed reduced or should I just pay the fine?

Re: 81 in 55 zone
Hello,
From my understanding radar/lasar can be effective to over a 1000 ft away. The only time a distance would make a difference would be if the officer was not "clearly visible" such as during the nighttime hours or clearly hidden behind trees. Seems you are most likely out of luck.
