Legal Question in Traffic Law in Georgia
Accussed for violating Georgia Law 40-6-49 .Got a "following too closely" citation highway in Atlanta, GA. It involves three cars. I was the last car. I was wondering how should I plea when I go to court. The 1st car stop suddenly and the second car stop in a timely manner i was unable to stop not because i was follwoing to close but later I found out my brake rod broke and I had no brakes. After talking w/ my mechanic he said this never breaks and it was really not my fault. Does the law have any provisions for this type of incident. I know I hit the car and got the ticket it was the impossible not to.

Your best bet is to meet with a lawyer. Since a ticket has consequences beyond the fines (increased insurance, civil liability, points on license), a lawyer can assist in presenting the case in a manner than might minimize those consequences. It's a litle more complex than just presenting a plea.
