None sometimes (depending on your past record). Sometimes a great deal. It may save your license. In other cases, it may not be a brilliant plan. Since a judge doesn't have to accept the plea and if you get this wrong you can lose your license and do jail time, instead of running with the wild guess you'll get without a lawyer knowing which court, and your history, and other possible pleas and dispositions, you will get offline and hire an attorney ASAP.

If this is your first suspended license charge in 5 years, a nolo plea will prevent your license from being suspended for an additional year because of the charge.
