Legal Question in Traffic Law in Georgia
I dont know how well you may be able to help me with this or answer any of my questions, but my case involves a traffic violation (I think). I collected a few speeding tickets all between the range of 15-20 over the speed limit (I think one might have been less than that). The point is, and to sum it up, I neglected to take care of my tickets when I got them and kind of forgot about them after a while. Well a few months after my last infraction, I was pulled over for a minor traffic violation, and came to find out that my license was currently and temporarily suspended until my tickets were taken care of, and until they were, could not under any circumstance get behind the wheel of a car. If I did so, and I signed a paper stating I knew what would happen if I did so, I would immediately be arrested and taken to jail for outstanding payment of speeding tickets and driving on a suspended license (which had the heaviest penalty and fine for violation). Well a day before i was set to take care of paying my fines, I did make the mistake of driving my car to a friends and was pulled over on my way home when a cop ran my license plate number and registered a suspended license to the car. I experienced my wake up call that night in jail, paid my fines, and have not driven a car since my arrest two and a half months ago. Now my court date is about to come up, and I am hoping there is some way I might be able to get my license back or be able to get a permit to drive to work and school. I'm 23 years old and have no prior convictions on my record, and up until this year, had no points even on my license....is there any way you could give me an outlook of what my alternatives in this case might turn out to be?? I'm just trying to prepare my self or do whatever I might need to do to better my case before my court date arrives. Thanks for your time and consideration

Unless you want a very bad day in court, get a lawyer. You should have already done so.
