Legal Question in Traffic Law in Georgia

Appeal parking ticket, grounds?

I attend a university; the parking services issued me a ticket because I parked in an ''Unauthorized Area''. According to their handbook on policy and procedures, ''Unauthorized Area Definition-parking in areas such as construction sites, designated dumpster sites, state vehicle spaces, other similar infraction.'' First, this statement is a direct quote, and it is not grammatically correct. If this is a reason alone to void the ticket, please tell me. To continue, I did not park in any the areas listed by statement as Unauthorized Area, and I was issued a permit for this lot. Can I use the fact that no where in their policy does it say I CANT park in this place against them? It says nowhere that I could NOT park here, and it does not give any disclaimer about the officers using their own judgment. Please Advise. Thank you.

Re: Appeal parking ticket, grounds?

Grammatical errors that are obvious are not grounds for invalidating a ticket. Other than that, I am not clear about what you are asking. If you didn't park in an improper area, inform the university. They should have a policy on how to appeal/fight a ticket.

Re: Appeal parking ticket, grounds?

You mention grammatical errors (a ridiculous argument), the handbook, and policies, but you are far from clear on the relevant issues. Where did you park? Obviously, you received a ticket for some reason. Presumably, if you had a permit for the lot, and parket in a designated space you would have stated that. Looking for grammatical errors and discussing the discretion of the officer indicate an attempt to get out of an otherwise valid ticket.
