Legal Question in Traffic Law in Georgia
Car accident
My son was involved in a rear end collision which totaled our car. He hit a truck in front of him which hit a vehicle in front of him. My son stated the first vehicle stopped in the middle of an intersection on a green light , because he panicked when he heard a siren. however the ambulane was not even close. There wre no immediate injuries, but the man in the first car was given a neck brace and taken to the hospital. My son was given a ticket for following too close, but I believe under the circumstances he did the only thing he could do, which was to hit the brakes. He is going to plead not guilty and then go to the second court date to explain it. The insurancr adjuster has not contacted us yet(which I fail to understand) and we're waiting on a police report that should be ready on Monday Sept. 29. Idecided to use this forum to get your legal opinion as to where we stand and should I obtain an attorney to defend him? Thank you for any help

Re: Car accident
As any attorney or judge will tell you, you should always get an attorney to help you. This is especially true in this case considering the injuries to the car in front of your son. The outcome in the criminal case can have a negative impact on any civil claim the driver might file for his injuries. An attorney will be able to get a resolution to your case that will not open up your son to any further liability.
