Legal Question in Traffic Law in Georgia
Failure to register vehicle in state ticket
I was pulled over and received a ticket for my vehicle not being registered in Georgia. I live in Georgia, however the car is in my mom's name and she lives in Texas. The tag is current in Texas. The officer told me I have to have the vehicle registered in Georgia, but I don't see how when its not in my name. Can this ticket hold up in court? Is this even illegal?

Re: Failure to register vehicle in state ticket
Assuming you show in court that the car belongs to a resident of Texas, the officer simply made a mistake. Be sure to actually go to court with documents that show the title and your mother's residence.
