Legal Question in Traffic Law in Georgia

No insurace, no license, caught by cops

A friend of mine was driving a car he had just bought 2 days before. He had no insurance on himself or the car and was driving with an expired learner's permit. He is also on probation for a juvenile offence. Last night (new years eve) he flipped the car and totalled it. He is ok though. He removed the car's tag, but forgot his personal belongings. When he went to retreive them, he was caught by the police. What will happen to him? What kind of sentece can we expect?

Re: No insurace, no license, caught by cops

What will happen to him will depend on the prosecutor and ultimately the judge. The prosecutor will decide which crimes to pursue and will likely recommend a sentence to the court. I would strongly advise your friend to retain local counsel ASAP.
