Legal Question in Traffic Law in Georgia

Officer put down ''wrong code'' on ticket

I recently relocted to Ga. from Ohio. Had tried to obtain Ga license but alot or ed tape involved (Social Security card had maiden name, etc).Well,I was given a ticket by a nice officer for ''Ga resident failure to obtain license after 60 days of moving here''.He told me the fine would not cost much.I went to pay it and found out the code he put down was for ''driving without a license'' and it is very costly. The Judge will not budge.I have tried to contact the officer who gave me the ticket but he has not returned my calls. My time is running out now and I do have Ga License.I did have a VALID license with me when he gave me the ticket and he saw it.I do not feel like I should pay or be punished for his error...Please help me,I am in tears at this point.Thank you so much,Cindy

Re: Officer put down ''wrong code'' on ticket

You should be able to show the court that you were licensed in another state and they should decrease the infraction to the 60-day requirement.
