Legal Question in Traffic Law in Georgia
Reasonable for speed reduction?
I received a citation for 63 in a 45. I was only about .1 of a mile past the sign noting the change from 55 to 45 at the point of being clocked. I had sped up in order to merge as two lanes became one, gently braking once I established my lane. I have a speeding ticket from jan of '05 for 17 over. Given that do you feel I have a reasonable chance for a speed reduction to keep my mvr and insurance unaffected?

Re: Reasonable for speed reduction?
It depends entirely upon the judge and the court's general policy. In most locations it would be a reasonable request. The court will generally ask the officer if he/she had any problems with you on the roadside or if they have any objection to a reduction. If it is reduced the fine will remain the same in most cases.
