Legal Question in Traffic Law in Georgia
If you have a speeding ticket and choose a trail by jury and then lose, can the jury sentence you to jail time

Judges are in charge of sentencing, so it would be up to the Judge. I have heard of some Judges that will give some jail time on a speeding ticket, but it is very rare. As a speeding charge is a misdemeanor, by definition it is punishable by up to 12 months in jail, so it is possible. However, you would really have to tick the Judge off to get jail time, unless you just had a real hard case for a Judge. Call a local attorney who handles traffic cases in that court and see what they think.
Robert is absolutely correct
Competent counsel may be able to work with the prosecutor on your case but, the speed for which you received your ticket and your driving record will be key factors in your case
Good luck
