Legal Question in Traffic Law in Georgia
Three strikes, you're out?
I have a friend who was arrested for the third time on charges of driving w/o license, insurance and tags. I am wondering who I could talk with in the court system to tell them about this guy. He is in dire need of help since he is probably clinically depressed (he had a brain tumor) and anti-social. Should I talk with the solicitor, judge, arresting officer? Who is my best chance for intervention? I think my friend does not think the laws of society apply to him, and that's why he has not gotten his business taken care of. Also, since this is his third time on these charges, will it still be traffic court? What is the sentence likely to be? Jail? He has no money for counsel. Would this be pushed to another court?

Re: Three strikes, you're out?
Your best chance would be the solicitor/prosecutor, but there is no guarantee that they will listen to you. Every defendant has people trying to influence the prosecutor and they tire of it easily. You may also show up at the hearing and asked to be heard.
