Suspended license (and warrant?) Can I leave the country?

About 5 years ago, I recieved 2 traffic violations(failure to stop at stop sign

and driving with expired license) while driving in Georgia. At the time I was

living in New York, and unfortunately forgot about them. Some time later my

parents recieved a notice saying that my license was suspended because of

failure to appear. I have not cleared this up since I have no need for a drivers

license in New York. I am planning a trip to Europe in a couple of months,

though, and wonder if I will be able to leave the country with this type of

warrant. Do I need to clear this up before I go, and if so what is the best/

quickest way to go about it? Thanks!

Contact the clerk of court in the county in Georgia where you were ticketed. You will have to pay some fines. That will most likely be the extent of it. You should clear these up.

You could have an outstanding warrant for your arrest and that could cause you to be held at any time (leaving the state tolls the statute of limitations). Additionally, if you have a jurisdiction that uses collection agencies, an unpaid fine may adversely affect you in that way as well. Why not simply pay?
