Legal Question in Traffic Law in Georgia
If an unlicensed driver was asked to drive a person's car and got into an accident while driving, what exactly are they held responsible for financially? Situation: Running a red light, totaling both the car they were driving and the car they hit. No known injuries. Insurance has paid for all but $2000 on the car that was hit, but not for the car that the unlicensed driver was in. Is the owner of the car responsible for paying for the damaged to their car, or is the unlicensed driver? And who is responsible for paying the extra $2000 on the car that was hit?

The unlicensed driver can be held liable for all the damages. Even if someone else's insurer pays, they can turn around and sue the driver.
Bear in mind that the unlicensed driver can also be jailed and fined for his criminal acts, and so can the person who allowed him to drive.
