What does this have to do with probate (which concerns the administration of the wills of dead people) or estate planning?
You need to re-direct your question to a CRIMINAL law attorney in Georgia.
In answer to your question, it depends. Although this is the first offense for burglary, is this the first offense in general or do you have convictions for other offenses? If so were any of these committed while you were a juvenile?
Your sentence, including probation, will depend on the facts and circumstances of the burglary (which you do not relate nor would it be proper to do so on a public message board) and on the prior record score, if any. I have not researched whether Georgia has sentencing guidelines (I don't do criminal law) but I imagine they do. The sentence generally will fall within the middle range of the guidelines if they apply. The sentence can be adjusted up (the convicted person given more time) or down (the person given less time) depending on the circumstances and whether there are aggravating or mitigating factors.
I suggest that the person charged with burglary speak to his or her criminal law attorney and see what the range of sentences will be.
You posted this in an area that deals with probate of wills, so criminal lawyers here will never see it. You may want to repost it in the correct area.
As a general answer, you need a lawyer. Generally you will do better with one than without one. That lawyer will need specific facts to determine what you should expect.
