Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Georgia

bill for mother-in-law estate

I want to bill my mother-in-law's estate for services I did for her from 2001 to 9/2008. I keep my time, mileage and where I took her for Dr. app., stores etc. She could not drive. No one else would do this for her. My husband is the executor of her estate. I am not listed in her will and people that knew what I did for her have said I should submit a bill to her estate. I want to but I don't know if I can. Any help you can give me will be appreciated. Thank you.

Re: bill for mother-in-law estate

Unless you had a contract saying you were supposed to be paid, such a claim would seem to be completely unwarranted. People don't charge family members for things like that.

Unless you have a business and had a legal business relationship with her it is not a valid debt against the estate. You should have charged her while she was still living if you were doing it for money.
