Re: deeds
This is too complicated to fully answer in this type of forum. VERY BASICALLY, you would determine who owned the property at least sixty years ago. Then, using the Grantor index in the real estate division of the Superior Court Clerk's office in the county in which the property is located, (as well as other very important sources, such as the suits index, General Execution Docket, etc.) you would trace ownership of the property forward to the present time. However, you can probably get an attorney who does this full-time to do it for you in a fraction of the time it would take you to do it and the job will be done correctly. The cost is probably $100-$200, depending on your area. Call an attorney in your area who specializes in real estate.
