Estate problems for grandmother

My grandmother is 80 years old and my step-grandfather just had 2 massive strokes which led to him being put into a nursing home. My grandmother has Power Of Attorney over him now, but his daughter, by another woman is trying to take it away from her. She has talked my grandpa into moving in with her when he leaves the nursing home. She has said that she was going to get my grandpa to sell the house which my grandmother is living in now and she doesn't want to lose her house. Both names are on the deed. My question is: Can this lady get Power of Attorney over grandpa and can they make my grandmother sell her house?

Generally, a power of attorney is valid until revoked by the person who gave it or his/her death. You should contact a local attorney who knows the Probate Court procedures about having someone appointed as Gaurdian of the Person and/or Property of your step-grandfather. Even though he apparently is not blood-kin with you, anyone can apply to have a guardian appointed.
