Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Georgia

Executor of estate

I am executor of my neighbors will who passed away in 2/08. All furnishings etc have been disposed of and only the house is left. The house was orig in his name but he changed it back in the 70's to his common law wife. She passed away in 2003 and her granddaughter was executor and the will gave the house to him and the her granddaughter. This was done to protect him from losing the house as he was a spender. She did a quit claim putting her name on the property as joint. He leaves a will acknowledging her but leaves her nothing. Where does this leave the granddaughter that is no kin to him? She was the wifes relative.

She would not help him in anyway after this, that is why he left her nothing.

He has animals that he wanted taken care of by putting that in his will. He blessed me and my husband with this duty which we are glad to do. His will states that when these animals pass away everything comes to me and my husband.

We have the house leased at the time waiting for the real estate to recover.

I want to do the right thing so where does this leave this granddaughter?

Without reading the deeds and the wills it is impossible to answer you.

Re: Executor of estate

In addition, your post is far from clear on the title to the property. If someone else owns an interest in the property, his will is not going to undo that. It appears the granddaughter might own half the house, but again your post is not clear. This is not something resolved in a free message board.
