Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Georgia

My father passed away and I'm trying to file for administrator of the estate and I don't have any income, I'm a single mother. What affidavit do I need to file in GA, I was told that it was called in forma pauperis. I don't know if it is the civil one or not.

Most probate court forms are at http://www.gaprobate.org/forms.php . However the probate courts have no form to waive filing fees.

You may want to adapt the form Clayton Magistrates Court uses at http://web.co.clayton.ga.us/pdfs/magistrate/pauper aff.pdf (change the court name when you retype it).

Having said all this, it can be VERY expensive to fix mistakes you may cause by not having a lawyer. If you can't afford to hire a lawyer, save up enough for a consultation to review your paperwork and be coached before you file. Our office generally charges about $100 for such a review. That expenditure might possibly save you money on fixing problems later.
