I have never heard of amending a petition for probate. One would think that it is straightforward and would be done correctly the first time. The fact that you messed up and now need to amend suggests that you are doing this yourself and that you do not know what you are doing. You are also out of state. While Georgia has no impediments to you serving as personal reprsentative (some states do) it will make administration of the estate more complicated. You really should at least consult witha probate lawyer who practices in the county where the estate is or will be pending. Each county is like its owns little fiefdom and may have its own quirks that only a local lawyer will know.
