Is there some reason your sister should not be appointed as the personal representative? You are not losing any rights of inheritance - if there is a will, you still get whatever is left to you in the will (after all debts are paid) regardless of who is the personal representative. Same if there is no will provided you are an heir under the intestacy laws.
