Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Georgia
Why do I have to fill out a inventory for my husbands will if he left everything to me.The children signed off and are adults. The only thing that might be in his name alone is a twelve year old car. Everything else was in both our names and paid to the other upon death.

It depends on how his lawyer drafted the will. WIth a proper will, that would be unnecessary.

Unless the will has a provision relieving the executor from the duty to file an inventory, the executor must file an inventory. You can apply to the court to be relieved of filing an inventory, and this will ordinarily be granted if all of the heirs agree.
