Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Georgia

GA Probate Court Standard form

''Petition for Year's Support'' A widow told me about this option

for the GA real-estate taxes. I am scared to go through with this

process because I did not file probate for my husbands estate.

Have you seen this work for widows and under what circumstances? Could this open up a can of worms or is it simply

to help a widow even if you have a fair amount of life insurance.

It talks about life style, well without his paycheck and health

insurance we certainly have a change in lifestyle.

You need to see a lawyer ASAP. There are important legal decisions, which vary from case to case that affect whether you should file a regular probate, or years support or both. If you guess wrong, you can cost yourself a lot of money. There is nothing to fear about the process, and sitting down with a lawyer will likely make you feel much better about the options you have.
