Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Georgia

Grandmother's estate

Years before my grandmother died, she called to tell me that my great grandmother had invested either an IRA or a CD (I can't recall which) in my name when I was a child that had come to maturity. It was then worth about $6,000 and she said she needed it and for me to sign it over to her for her to pay great grandmother's nursing home bills, with the promise she would leave it to me in estate when she died. I do not keep in touch with my aunts and other family my grandmother would have left her estate to. How can I now know if she had left to me what she had promised, or if there is anything more? Many thanks, Blaine
