Husband's cremated remains disposition

My husband of 71 passed suddenly April 6, 2008. We lived in GA and his wishes were to be cremated, buried in Catholic tradition and inurned in family burial plot in NY.

I am 66 years old. We lived on S. S. We had no wills. My husband further requested I call his brother (a lawyer in NY) who, my husband told me, would handle all expenses and arrangements and honor my requests for my husband's last wishes.

I did call and brother did offer to pay all expenses from GA cremation on through to NY funeral and inurnment arrangements. I was to have the cremation done remains shipped and I agreed. He also assured me ''anything you want'' - just as my husband told me.

I did have the cremation done here in GA and remains shipped to NY last Thursday.

Today, I do not know where my husband's remains are an no one is offering information.

The NY funeral home director told me he cannot speak to me because ''he has been given orders by brother not to talk to anyone but him''. And there is no Catholic burial planned.

Please, can anyone in this world please help me get my husband's remains returned to GA?
